Dr. Mary M. Gillam, Col (Ret), USAF

Prior to starting M2G Dynamic Leadership Solutions, Dr. Gillam was a Senior Executive with the Department of Defense (DoD), where she served as the Director of Technology, Innovation, and Engineering.
After military retirement, Dr. Gillam worked in private industry as a government contractor supporting the Air Force Chief Information Officer (CIO). An experienced and seasoned leader, she has commanded several organizations and deployed in support of numerous real-world operations. She spent three tours in the Pentagon to include assignments at the Joint Staff Directorate of Intelligence (J2), where she deployed in support of the Embassy in Turkey. She also worked for the Secretary Air Force Inspector General. While on the staff of the Office of the Secretary of Defense, she worked for the DoD Comproller, and the DoD CIO, who also served as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Networks, Information and Integration (ASD/NII). While assigned in Germany, she served as a Congressional and Legislative Affairs Specialist, and as a Political-Military Affairs Officer specializing in Sub-Saharan Africa.
A career telecommunications and information technology professional, Dr. Gillam has held numerous positions in this field culminating at the Senior Executive Service (SES) level. From developing systems requirements to full-scale implementation, to leading and managing system and network security certifications, she has done it all. She holds a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma. Prior to her military retirement, she served as the Director of Information Technology and CIO for the largest Air Logistics Center in the Air Force. In that position, she was directly responsible for ensuring compliance with numerous Congressional and DoD level mandates to include the Clinger-Cohen Act, the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), and the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP). Under her tenure as President of the Oklahoma Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications-Electronics Association (AFCEA), the chapter won the distinguished Harry S. Ingles International Award, and the Model Chapter of the Year Award.
Dr. Gillam holds a BS in Chemistry from NC A&T State University, three masters' degrees to include a Masters in Computers and Information Resource Management from Webster University. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Legislative Studies from Georgetown University, a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Project Management from Villanova University, and a PhD in Management Information Systems Technology from the University of Phoenix. Her keen interest in legislation and information technology was the impetus for her dissertation which focused on the Impact of the Clinger-Cohen Act on Information Technology Governance.
Dr. Gillam is also a graduate of the Naval War College in Newport, RI, and the Air Command and Staff College in Montgomery, AL. She has been awarded multiple military and leadership awards to include the Spirit of the American Woman Leadership Award, and the Federal Women's Executive Leadership Award.
An avid writer, Dr. Gillam published the Amazon best sellers, 14 Jewels of Dynamic Leadership and 31 Gems of Poetic Praise. Her book, Women Stop the Chase: Let God's Man Find You (Proverbs 18:22) went to #1 on the Amazon Best Seller's List. To assist others with their writing dreams, Dr. Gillam published Self-Publishing: Lessons Learned From My Journey.
